Year end

Hello all!
I am very behind, as I have been reallllly sick for several days.  Also, I was audited by the IRS and will continue with that into the new year.  I will do my best to get info to everyone asap.  Thank you for your understanding.
January and February schedules will be posted in a week.
JV will hopefully compete one more time in January.  I am looking for an appropriate comp.  if there are no other teams in JV coed, I may ask to do an exhibition instead.  I will keep you in the loop.
Those who competed at varsity state are invited to compete at HS nationals.   Information was given at state regarding rooms.  Please plan on paying rooming deposit $100, before dec 31.  If paying by cc, there is a form in the packet.  Or I can talk you thru instructions for paying online.  Or if paying by check, please mail or drop off to me at 4487 bell mountain dr, cr 80104.  Make checks to nhscc.
Flights will need to be paid asap.  Price and dates hopefully on Monday.  Rooming balances due jan 15.
First alternate is keila.  She has the option to Attend or not.  If your athlete is not attending, and they competed at varsity state, please let me know right away.  As of right now, 16 are planned on.  Rooming should work evenly. 4 to a room.
The team will leave on Thursday afternoon and return Monday evening.  Feb 6-10.
Every year I host a holiday party.  This year has been a disaster for me because I have been SOOO sick.  I am going to have to cancel.  Still not 100%, with only 2 days to go.  Sorry all!  Hope to have a New Years social.  I will let everyone know once I feel better.
I have been at 101 for 3 days, and today is back to normal.  So....again, thanks for everyone's patience.  Happy holidays!!!!! Enjoy family and the time off.

KS Cards

Hello all- There are King Soopers cards available to cheer families that can help put money into the cheer account.  If you go to King Soopers, please consider getting a fundraising card.  It is a special card that you take into the KS customer service, put money on the card, shop, and then use that card for your purchases/gas.  KS gives a % back to our group for all monies spent.  It is easy and can really add up.  (Especially with the holidays coming up!)  If interested, please let me know, and I will get a card for you OR you can go to CVHS main office and ask for a KS card for cheers.
Thnx all!
Heather

Schedule

Hello all!  I am so sorry for the schedule mix.  Lauren (JV team mom) is awesome and I accidently told her the wrong info about Monday/Tuesdays.  I goofed.  We will have a competition schedule starting now.  That means, athletes should not miss any practices if on comp teams.
This week for Wed, Thur, Fri, and Sat (Varsity 1-3pm and JV 4-6 on Saturday) are normal.  However, Monday Oct 28- off, Tuesday & Thursday after school JV/evening v, Wednesday NO practice.  Taste of the world, Friday after school and Saturday is varsity in Pueblo.  NO JV practice Nov 2.  (Tuesday tumbling as usual).
Monday Nov 4th all comp teams after school.  Nov 5th all teams tumbling and practices after school 3:15-4:15.  DC invite that evening potluck dinner with run through of routines 6-7pm.  (Time might change.  Waiting on final ok.)
When we pull grades, and an athlete is not eligible, we HAVE to pull kids from routines.  Please help us by really watching your athletes grades.  I do not have a choice.  If failing any classes, and they need to stay after school to work with teacher, that is fine.  Just  let us know.  However, please know that many kids go in early on Wednesdays as to avoid missing practice.  if grades are really rough, I am happy to sit with the parents and the athlete and come up with a plan.

***parent meeting October 26 3-4pm.  please attend if at possible.  there is a ton to talk about, but the meeting will NOT run over 4pm.

Hope everyone is having a great break.  Once we go back on Monday- we are officially on a NO missing practice rules.  If not on comp team, I highly suggest you be there for practices if you hope to compete.  We are moving kids on every week!

Community service opp

Hello to all cheers!
Please let me know if anyone is available to work with me for a few little kids on a one hour private cheer lesson.  I donated an one hour session for a specials needs fundraiser.  I am looking at possibly an evening over fall break or a weekend.  Thanks all for considering!
Coach Heather

competition teams

Varsity comp team is currently at 16.  In order for anyone to be added, they must have a solid tuck, running roundoff/tuck, and/or a full.  OR members may be moved up if the routine is not scoring well during the competitive season and needs to be a larger team size.  Please keep working skills if you are close.  Not just tumbling, but stunting as well.  No one currently on/off is guaranteed to compete.  Skills and grades must be consistent and what is best for the team.
JV comp team- please keep up the good work. You all are progressing as a team an amazing pace.  Super excited about this team.  If NOT on the comp team for jv at this time, please keep up the hard work.  We are placing new people in the routine VERY frequently.

schedule changes

Hello all!  You may have seen a text today from your cheer.  AS a team we are reviewing the weekly schedule with all athletes at Tuesday practices.  Today, we asked that they text you so we know the information is getting to you.  We have a very complicated school as far as space and scheduling goes.  Sometimes, we are forced to be flexible.  For example:  This past Saturday was on an original schedule from the school as having a JV football game at 9am.  Neither poms nor cheers were informed of any change.  So, in the future, I am asking the lead moms to double check the continental league site/schedule weekly.  Once the cheers were informed of the game change, Coach Elijuan, who was there, told the JV team they did not have to stay OR they could stay until the 11am JV game.  Todays schedule change was simply that the cheers got out of practice at 5:45 because a golf banquet could not get moved any later.  Wednesday is cancelled for JV cheer this week.
Thursday is as scheduled 3:15 and Saturday is as usual.  However, tumbling for JV on Saturday is pending because Coach Steve has a funeral to attend that day.  If they are still tumbling, look for the time to be 12:30 and 1:30pm.
There is a game this Thursday night for varsity game team only.  6:30pm for non-competitive and 5:30pm for competitive.  Saturday- varsity competitive are encouraged to go to the Americheer comp at Chaparral HS from approx. 12-3.  Then a one hour practice immediately following.
Fall break practice schedule to be issued asap.
Thank you all for your understanding.  Some changes are NOT under our control.  We are working to resolve some of the gaps between various teams at CV and cheers.

Mats

Please see the photos in the next few blogs.   This is how they are suppose to be put away.  If they are not put away correctly, those who put them away will be required to go back to the school and put them back correctly.  If someone does not return to fix the mats, that individual is benched for the next event.  (Practices do not count.)
Signs and rollers need to be put away as well.  The custodian staff has a large number of chairs that are moved in/out of the mat room.  They are constantly fixing the mats and rollers in order to even enter the room.  We are being disrespectful by not taking care to put these things away the way we have been asked.
There is duct tape on the floor indicating where they need to go.  Today the doors were chained shut because of the lack of care.

Open mat

I am so sorry about todays open mat.  I drive through a LOT of new construction areas as a realtor, and I had my 4th nail in a tire today in the past month!  I just got new tires, and the tire shop did not return a special tool that I needed to take off the hub caps.  So.... I could not change my tire in the glamorous area of Commerce City.  So, I was blessed with one of the graduating kids picking up my kids from school, and I got back into the Castle Rock at 5:30!  Ugh!  Again, sorry to cancel.  I have missed 3 practices in 7 years.  It is not usual.  (Once for a little finger issue...lol, another for a sick kid, and lastly for an ACL rupture.)....and today....

Clothing

Only once payments are final, can I release clothing items.  There are several families that did not get an order paid for.  I understand, but please understand why I have to hold items until payment is rcvd.  Checks to CVHS.  If wanting to pay with a CC.  Contact me so I can contact our school accountant.  Another order will be made at the end of May.  If going to camp, you must have the practice/camp clothing.  If you did not order last month, you very likely will not recv your items in time for camp.  You will be required to borrow from another team member that is not going.
A couple of girls did not get an order placed, because they did not pay online in time.  Sorry I had to drop a couple of people off, but the order would not be processed until complete.  It was a week over due and several texts/calls were made trying to get people to pay.  So, please do NOT miss deadlines.  I do not get paid in the summer, and this is a ton of silly work trying to get in touch with families that are not following deadlines.  I can not chase people, and nor should parent volunteers.  If you are new, I understand having questions and maybe goofing up.  However, most of the issues were with returning kids.....
So, please if on a payment plan, please let me know when and how much.  All balances must be paid by June 15th.  NO EXCEPTIONS.
Thank you all for your understanding.
Coach Heather

Clothing order

Clothing items are starting to come in!  Woo hoo!  Shoes, poms, briefs, and all three shorts are in.  All custom items will take awhile.  If anyone needs their shoes right away, let me know.  Otherwise, I am holding onto the items until more comes in.  It is all separated and labeled already.  As usual, there are a couple of items missing.  (Only poms!)  Once you do get the shoes you ordered, if they do not fit- return them to me un-worn.  I can exchange them if done promptly.  ALSO, shorts can be exchanged if done promptly.
Please write your initials on your pom handles.  (Baton handle)  If lost you stand a chance if your name is on it.  Otherwise....

JV CSU Cheer Camp Registration

  •  Carpooling and general details will be discussed at next parent meeting.
    • COLORADO STATE UNIVERSITY
    • FORT COLLINS , CO US
      06/20/2013 - 06/23/2013

Please have this registration payment in by June 1st.  Otherwise, I will assume your cheer is not attending.

I know this is a lot of money.  However, I think it is that important.  This camp is awesome at giving a lot of feedback to the girls for cheers, jumps, and stunting.  They will have a lot of team bonding, which is super important for safety reasons.  The girls will arrive at CSU in the am on the 20th, unpack in the dorms, start classes at noon.  They will have meals provided starting with dinner through the breakfast on the 23rd.  On the 23rd, families are encouraged to arrive around 9:30am to watch and support our kids for final evals.  Bring a lawn chair and prepare to pick up your tired cheer at noon.  (Also, hope to have a tailgating party before we hit the road on the 20th in the CVHS parking lot.  Anyone want to arrange/head this?)

Looking forward to seeing everyone at open mat days- please start coming and freshmen are allowed now to be there and participate!  Regarding this camp, please attend if at all possible.  It is a HUGE start for the team becoming a team.  This is going to be an AMAZING JV- but we need to be aggressive in team building!  Coaching staff is nearly settled and schedules are due to be out very soon.  What I know for sure- Elijuan is staying and will be on staff!  He will be our stunting guru for BOTH teams.  I plan on scheduling myself to work with JV once a week as well.  It is going to be team coaching this year for both teams.  The team behind the team.  Expect the best- we are and we are super excited!!!!

Ford fundraiser and carwash May 4th

      Parents,

Our first fundraiser is May 4th!!! There is two parts to the fundraiser.

       1.       One person per family at least 18 years of age can do a ten minute Ford test drive. Our assigned time is 10am to 11am. Please tell all your friends and family to come. You have to tell them that you are doing the test drive for the cheer program so we can get credit. Each test drive earns $16 towards our program. If for some reason you can’t make that time you can come earlier or later but again,  please make sure they know that you want it to go to cheer program.

      2.       The cheer program is running a car wash from 9 – 4pm. We need Cheerleaders to sign-up for time slots. We also are selling hotdogs and water so I will need a few parents to help. Here is the connection to sign-up.

Cheerleaders need to wear red or black shirt and red or black shorts. They can wear bathing suits under the shirt and shorts but they may not at any time take off or roll up shirt/shorts.

Each cheerleader needs to bring a sponge and towels. We will provide the buckets, hose and soap. I will also have a table with chairs for cheerleaders to check in.

INCOMING FRESHMAN ARE ALLOWED TO PARTICIATE!!! THIS IS A GREAT WAY TO MEET SOME OF YOUR TEAM MEMBERS.

If you cannot participate in the fundraiser please make a poster that advertises the Car wash/ Hotdogs/ Ford test-drive. You can bring them to open mat on Friday May 3rd at 3:30.

Looking forward to seeing everyone there.

      Uniform/clothing day

      Wednesday April 17 is uniform/shoes/warm-ups/practice clothing/poms/ day!
Varsity Brand clothing rep Evan will be in the dance/wrestling room with samples and a computer ready to help with the fittings and ready to take your order.  I will be there as well.  There are samples to try on.  The girls can try on items in my attached office or in the other office attached. Payments can be made with cc, checks made to Varsity Brands, or with cash.
      • JV- uniform: shell, liner, skirt, brief, shoes, comp bow, bag (not mandatory), warm-ups, poms, camp/practice outfits.
      • V- same as above, but no liner or brief. Must buy on own under brief.  Please get details from past girls/returning members.
If waiting to buy any items, prices on camp/practice shirts most likely will be MUCH higher in price, as there will be fewer ordered.  Uniforms take 4-6 weeks.  Warm-ups can be purchased in Aug.  Bags are not required.  There are two sizes, please let Evan know.  Shoes can be purchased elsewhere online if you wish.  Girls must have a cheer shoe for practices.  You can purchase the required shoe in August, but a less expensive pair for practices.
Used uniforms may be available, but I think very few will be.

      Dolphin

This was sent to me today- please read.  Also, please let me know if you end up being a judge, volunteer, helper, coach or whatever.  TY

      Hi Heather-

I run the Dolphins cheer program here in Castle Rock and I wanted to reach out to you this year, as we are really trying to get more community involvement as far as our cheer program goes and what a better connection than high school cheerleaders (since that is where all these girls strive to be one day).  I know in the past that the cheerleaders have had community service hours to fill and wanted to connect with you as far as having any available and willing girls to help out and assist our coaches on our squads this fall.  Even if it's only one practice a week or one practice every other week.  Our sideline season runs from August - October and our competitive season runs from August - March.

I know try-outs for this next season are quickly approaching, but please let me know if this is something that you think some of your cheerleaders would be interested in helping with to either fill community service hours or just help out.

Also, wanted to see if you would have one or two girls available (even from last years teams) to help judge competitive try-outs Saturday, April 27th from 11:30-12:30.

      Let me know!

      Thank you!

      v  Attendance

Ø  All students who participate in school activities must be in regular full-day attendance the day the activity is scheduled.  Full-day attendance is from the beginning of the first hour and remaining until the close of the last hour of classes.  To participate in a practice, a student must attend school hours.

Ø  This must be fully documented with the Attendance Secretary.

Ø  If a member is ill and misses ANY activity, he/she must be at HOME or seeking medical appointments.

Ø  If a member misses ANY practice one week before ANY type of performance, he/she will automatically be replaced by an alternate for that particular performance.

Ø  An absence must be documented by the parent in writing with the Attendance Secretary.

Ø  All doctor appointments, etc. should be scheduled so they do not interfere with team activities.

Ø  All Alternates will attend all practices and performances.  Please see alternate section for further info.

Ø  All members must attend each activity in its entirety.  Leaving/arriving early or late because of another sport, an appointment, work, and so on are unacceptable.

Ø  Work is not considered an excuse for missing any activity.

      v  Uniform

Ø  Each member will be expected to provide practice uniforms.

§  A complete list will be given to each candidate at tryouts.

§  Any financial problems should be discussed with the Advisor/coach.

Ø  Each member will be required to maintain good condition and cleanliness of his/her uniform on a weekly basis.

§  Footwear and accessories such as makeup, bloomers, ribbons, etc. will be purchased by each member.  A complete list will be given to each candidate at tryouts.  EACH team is different.

      v  Medical

Ø  Each member must have a complete physical exam before the tryouts either in April or in August.

Ø  The school athletic trainer will administer an early season concussion test.

      v  Character

Ø  Team members should be leaders within and out of the school and set a good example at all times.

Ø  Team members should be above reproach maintaining good personal appearance and habits that cannot be criticized.

Ø  Smoking, drinking and/or drug use may be grounds for suspension or dismissal by the Advisor/coach.

Ø  Each member must abide by those standards set by CVHS, which are found in the Student Handbook.

Ø  A member should be courteous and friendly to all other team members as well as the student body.  If it is an on-going issue, this may be grounds for suspension or dismissal by the Advisor/coach.

Ø  A member must be courteous and friendly to other teams and visitors.  When hosting a game or event, our cheer team is to greet the visiting team/s.  Let them know you are happy to assist them with any reasonable need and point out where the trainer, bathrooms, and administrators are for each event.

Ø  A member must be respectful to the Advisor/coach and a credit to the school.

v  Personal responsibility and maturity is an important quality for a cheerleader from CVHS to possess.  There has traditionally been a fall tryout.  It is designed to be for those who did not tryout in the spring and/or are new to CVHS.  The likelihood that anyone will be placed on a varsity level is slim.  The goal is to set the teams in the spring.  Team bonding and team growth is a safety concern for cheers and a necessary element for timing of various skills.

v  The role of the alternate:

      ·        If another team member is unable to participate, an alternate may be asked to fill in at practices & possibly competitions.

      ·        Alternates will participate in games, perform at assemblies and special events, able to letter, and may have opportunity to compete (depends on number restrictions of some competitions)

      ·        Benefits to alternate can also be that the athlete is learning at a higher level, will learn various routine positions, and will be able to continue to improve on individual skills.

v  Coaches will place athletes on the team (s) that they feel are best for the athlete, team, and program as a whole.  A team member can be moved up or down based on skills, attendance, and conduct.  Inabililty to keep to payment schedule and/or inabaility to turn in various required paperwork may also be grounds for moving a member down or off of a squad.  Coaches will very likely require additional practices for athletes that need the extra time/help.

v  We have our own blog!  Castleviewspiritteam.blogspot.com.  90% of coaches correspondence will be through the blog.  You may opt to have all new messages that are posted emailed to you by registering on the blogs email.  It is easy and you will be kept up to date with info posted- as soon as it is posted.  However, ask your athlete if any updates were given at practice too!

v  Varsity home football games are at the DCSD stadium (near DCHS).  Games are usually at 7pm, unless otherwise noted.  JV and freshman home football games are generally at CVHS home football field.  Most varsity soccer games are also at the stadium.  Home volleyball matches are in the CV gym, as well as wrestling, and basketball.  Rarely do we attend away games.  If they are close by, we will make a decision as a group.  If there are play off games, varsity is expected to attend.  These are often short notice times/dates.  If late to the game, laps at the immediate end of the game.  5 minutes late equals 2 laps.  For each minute over add a half of a lap.

      v  Points

Ø  Points or demerits will be used as a disciplinary tool.

Ø  They will be given by the Advisor/coach.

Ø  Three points will result in suspension for two weeks.

§  Any further infractions will result in dismissal from the team.

Ø  1/3 point will be given for:

§  Tardiness at any team activity

      §  Chewing gum in practice

      §  Chewing gum in uniform

§  Inappropriate practice uniform, including hair

      §  Forgotten props or accessories

      §  Inappropriate performance makeup

Ø  1 point will be given for:

§  Disrespect toward Advisor or team leaders/captains.  Also applies to team mates.

§  Absence may also result in removal from performance

§  Use of inappropriate language in uniform

      §  Gossiping in uniform

Ø  Suspension will be issued for violation of: (Suspension means not attending any team function for 2 weeks)

      §  Smoking in uniform

§  Lack of minimal grade requirements for more than 2 weeks

§  Upon resuming team activities, the member can become an Alternate for one week and will be ineligible to perform. After completion of the “Alternate’s Week” the member can resume regularly scheduled activities.

§  Two suspensions or four points, will result in dismissal from the team

Ø  The following violations will result in automatic dismissal:

      §  Drinking in uniform

      §  Drug use in uniform

Ø  Any school imposed suspension will be an automatic 2 event suspension or possible removal from the team

      v  Team Leaders/Captains

Ø  The roles and responsibilities of CVHS Team Leaders/Captains are as follows:

§  Make a practice clothing schedule.

§  Assign hair styles, make-up, and “what to bring” lists.

§  Check for game/event time changes the day before every required event.

§  Keep a copy of music.

§  Be able to text message communicate with team.

§  These individuals are required to keep team matters private.  Any gossip regarding team members/team matters may be grounds for dismissal.

§  Captains/leaders may be asked to check for forms, collection of various items for numerous activities, and help coach/advisor with starting practices.

§  Coordinate the big sister/brother program for CVHS spirit.

      §  Car-pool check list coordinator.

§  Report all positive team news to the CVHS newspaper/office/staff.  (Community service, events, competitions, and more.)

      v  Booster Club

§  When students become members of the team, their parents automatically are expected to attend parent meetings once a month. The Booster Club is governed by CVHS and the only booster club is a school wide booster club.

Ø  However, there will be functioning committees within the CVHS Spirit Organization run by parents. (Individual accounts lead, social lead, ect.)  Every athlete is required to have their parents volunteer and work one event throughout the year.  Otherwise, a charge to the athletes account may occur in order to pay for a worker to replace the parent volunteer.

Ø  A sign-up sheet with the year’s events will be available for sign-ups at the first two parent meetings.  Possibly a new list will be published for the winter season.

      v  Camp/s

Ø  All members are highly encouraged to attend the summer over-night camp.  Varsity June 13-16 at CSU.  Camp is for national level teams and is by invite only!  Based on elite level stunts and a little more focus on choreography.  JV is at CSU June 20-23.  The cost is $360/pp cheer.  This is due by May 15th.  Please make checks out to UCA.

Ø  Transportation will NOT be provided for campers.

Ø  Costs may include instruction, room and board, and meals.

Ø  JULY is off!  However, each team member is expected to be in a strength and conditioning program for cheers through the CVHS athletic department.  If any varsity team member does not enroll and does not participate in 80% of the class, they will not compete in the fall season.  Proof of participation will be checked! Safety for cheers and competitive skills timing are a focus at these camps.  Hence, the stressed importance for especially varsity levels.

      v  Fund Raising

Ø  All members are required to participate in all fund-raising which is generated by the team and/or the Booster Club.  When a fundraiser is required, payment for amount that organization will receive may be paid instead of doing the sale of items.  However, the sale of items or payment is required.  There will be opportunities during the fundraisers for individuals to sell more than the required to earn money for their own accounts.

Ø  There will be set goals for each member to attain in their fund raising activities.

Ø  These fundraisers help off-set the costs of music, competitions, signs, coaches camp fees, coaches conference, and more.  Major fundraising is done during the summer and fall.

Ø  New this year:  we will reduce the amount of team fundraising during the school year IF the summer fundraising has a big effort.

      v  Community Service

Ø  The CVHS Spirit Team goal is to do one community service each month.

Ø  This is absolutely required by each team member.

Ø  1 demerit/point will be given for non-participation.  Monetary complications will never be an excuse, because asking a coach/advisor for options will ALWAYS be made available.

Ø  We support the Susan Kommen Breast Cancer Walk, the CR Women and Family Crisis Center, local elementary schools, US military, and many more.

      v  Gentlemen

Ø  Boys are a part of our program.  Unlike most sports, boys and girls work together in spirit teams.

Ø  In co-ed cheer, boys have a very specific role:  They are expected to be Yell Leaders.  At games, the boys will be the leaders of cheers, of flags, megaphones, and setting up of such.  Boys will not be bench warmers.  This is a college style program for boys.  Confidence and being a team member/player will be required.  The girls have these expectations as well.  However, they will not be the sole leaders cheering at games.

      v  Tryouts

      Ø  Tryout attire

§  Clothing should be neat and clean.

§  Candidates dress in similar attire as to not call attention to any of the returning candidates.  Cheers please wear plain white shirts and shorts in either red, black, or gold.  Athletic shoes are required.  School clothing rules apply.

§  No jewelry should be worn.  This is a CHSAA rule.  None- if you just had something pierced, decide if this is the right sport for you, because no exceptions are made.  And yes, belly buttons do count.  NO JEWELRY!!!  If a medical medallion or religious piece must be worn, it needs to be taped to your body.  Please see coach Heather for rule specifics.

§  Hair should be secured up and back (away from the face).  No hair in the face.  You are athletes, and not running for a beauty pageant.  Clean girl next door gives you a higher score at tryouts, and during the year you will be asked to keep the same image while in uniform and at practices.  No hair in the face!

§  Heavy make-up is not appropriate.

§  Nails should be short and light (if any) polish.  NO polish during competition season.  No length that can be seen from back hand up palm forward.

Ø  A number system is used to identify candidates at tryouts, make sure your number can be seen on your attire at all times. Stickers with your number will be made available for each day.

Ø  Spring:  A camcorder to tape tryouts will be used.

Ø  Spring:  Candidates come out in groups of 2-4 to perform their group material.

Ø  There may be call-backs.  On tryout day, participants should bring snacks and something to do.  (Homework, a book, a pillow…)

Ø  Spring:  Tryout requirements and squad regulations will be reviewed at the clinics and tryouts.

Ø  Release forms and consent forms must be turned in before anyone can participate at clinics.  A current physical must either be on fils, bring a copy, or get a new physical before one can tryout.

Ø  Males: tryouts should be about masculinity, strength, motion technique, tumbling, and jump technique.

Ø  There will be a warm-up at each clinic.

Ø  Spring:  Copies of the tryout material will be made available for $10 on the first day of tryouts.  (You are welcome to share instead of buying own.)  If attending the tryout clinics before tryouts, it will be included in the clinic cost.  This DVD will also have the majority of the seasons sideline cheers as well.

Ø  If unable to attend clinic days and/or tryouts, a video/dvd can be submitted.  Please email coach Heather for required material to be on video/dvd.  OR  a private tryout can be a rare exception.

Ø A snapshot must be attached to each application. It can be a paper copy.  Just need to put a face to the name for coaches and judges!

      v  Post-tryouts and posting results

Ø  Spring: Results will be posted by letter and handed out.

Ø  Meetings to discuss only an individual’s results may be set at this time.

There is always the possibility that an athlete will not be placed on a team.  If team sizes are too large, we will make cuts.  If an athlete is not working well with others, not being positive, does not have required paperwork in, they too will not be placed on a team.  Past placement does not guarantee the same level of placement for the following year.  The competition level and expectations rise every year.  Those who are returning spirit team members need to keep in mind their past accountability will be taken into consideration.   With all of this said, we have great kids in these programs, and as a spirit team coach I am looking for those to build up our newer schools traditions.  This is a challenging, rewarding, and fun program.  I look forward to meeting new faces and seeing the returning!  Best of luck!

      Coach Heather

      Dear Parents,

Becoming a member of the Castle View Cheerleading Squad for the 2013/2013 school year…

If he/she is elected to be a cheerleader, there are specific responsibilities and obligations which your son/daughter must assume in order to qualify and remain an active member of the team.
