Varsity state and nationals

Dec 9th- Varsity state: Please go to the chsaa.org website under sports/spirit to find info about the varsity state.  You will see a rough schedule after Nov 9th.  Until then, we will not know if JV can attend the pre-lims or not.  JV/fresh should be there for finals.  Neither varsity team will know if they are in finals until around 7pm.  Finals are usually around 8pm.  There will most likely be a varsity teams lunch on that Friday.  If either varsity team were to win state, they do an encore performance on Saturday.
Dec 12- Monday after state, varsity parents should plan on a nationals meeting, if a varsity team makes the top 4 at state.  If they do not make top 4, there is not a parent meeting.
Please plan on the Monday mandatory varsity parents meeting, if they make top 4.  Plan on a solid hour for the meeting.  Parents vote on whether they think the team should go to nationals.  Upon a yes vote, an itinerary is given with the costs.  Be prepared to pay for airfare at this meeting.  (Approx $280-350)  Room/comp fees will be given and expected to be paid with one-two weeks directly to the nationals company.  Approx $600.  Lastly, rooming will be established at this time as well.

JV "State"

JV "State" is really called the CSCA Invitational.  (Colorado Spirit Coaches Association)  This is open to our Freshman/Cteam Poms, JV cheer, and JV Pom teams.  I signed up and paid for each team in mid September.
Please go to the cscaonline.org site to get details.  A permission slip is required.  Look for those from the coaches soon.  You will also notice a t-shirt, video, and team picture option on the csca site.  Please speak with your coach to get details.

ALL VARSITY TEAM MEMBERS ARE REQUIRED TO ATTEND.
It is an approx 55minute drive.  Please leave early enough to get there on time.  Freshman teams will usually start the day.  An early team breakfast will very likely occur on that morning OR a team dinner/dress rehearsal the night before.  Info to come.

Varsity Poms Competition Team

After really evaluating each girls performance from either Saturday or last week in practices, I have taken the time to talk to the choreographer to come to a tough decision.  Based on technique and performance, I need to put out the best players the floor at this point.  (As all coaches do.)  The routine is going to get harder, and those not at the 90% mark right now can not move forward.  Everyone is expected to still be at every practice, dress out 100% at competitions, and everyone will continuously be evaluated.  My goal is to get all 16 girls on the floor in a competition.  This may not happen, but that is my goal.  Is it theirs?  Turns and flexibility are the two toughest spots for most girls.  A few girls at also new to "performing."

At this point for Nov 5 NDA and league competitions, the following will be competing:
Cassidy Claar
Barbara Dietrick
Hannah Barker
Anne Crutcher
Lindsey Goodman
Kayla Goodman
Angela Dunn
Alexis John
Haley Erickson

Poms- varsity competition team

I will annnounce Varsity poms competitive team on Tuesday after talking with Lisa. Thank you for your patience.  If placed on or as an alternate, please know that everyones performance will be evaluated weekly.
I have watched the weekends performance several times and have asked the choreographer to do so as well.  Some changes will occur to the jazz piece.  Hip hop will start soon.  Everyone goes to every practice still.  Nothing changes.  If choosen as an alternate at this time, you can still be moved to competitive, but technique seems to be one of the biggest obstacles for many.  So, please keep working hard.  Great job this weekend.  Awesome start!

Doors open @ 4:45 pm for spectators
Fresh/ JV  performs @ 5:30 pm

*  Heritage has a small gym and will be having the dancers face one of the basketball goals verses one side of the gym.  When a team is performing, there will be parent seating right in front of them (on the court).
This is nice so you don't have to rush in for a good seat or try and find a seat when certain schools have saved an entire section front and center for their school.
