JV CHEER - SATURDAY PRACTICE TIME CHANGE

JV CHEER -

Saturday Practice has been changed to 9-12.  This will allow other sports to use our previous time.  We will share the 1/2 the commons with Varsity.  We can put tables to divide the room and there are enough mats for both teams.  Again, this is to accomadate other sports.  Let me know if you have any questions!

Announcements: Cheer & Poms: V & JV

Now that homecoming week is over... here we go:

Choreography:  V Cheer: Monday  Sept 24  RME 9-3 $120 (see previous blog)
Pictures:   All teams participate: Thurs Sept.  27th  after school in woods/ trail area at CV  (POMS first, Cheer  4PM)
Race for the Cure:  All teams participate: Sun Oct 7th :  community service hours cheering on race participants (separate blog will post as we get more info from race contact)
Kiddie Camp:  All teams participate:  Monday Oct 15th all day (no school/ fall break)
                          Kiddie campers perform @ game Fri Sept 19th  @7 PM
Concessions:  Poms one side Cheer one side:  Parents need to sign up for one half 
                       Fri Oct 19 7PM

League Competitions:  Cheer Wed Nov 7th @ DCHS
                                       Poms Thurs Nov 8th @ HRHS
                                       Cheer is expected to support poms and poms are expected to support cheer.

JV State Invitational:  Sat Dec 1 Arvada HS
Varsity State:  Dec 7  Denver Coliseum
                        Varsity teams are expected to support JV teams
                        JV teams are expected to support V teams (JV is not expected to come to the  competition during school hours)
UCA competition:  Varsity Cheer:  Nov 17th   (more info to come)

Outlet Shopping Extravaganza this Saturday

Hi Everyone,

The Outlet Shopping Extravaganza is this Saturday.  As of today, we have sold a total of 39 tickets.  The minimum that must be sold for us to share in the raffle proceeds is 100.  Please encourage everyone to try to sell as many tickets as they can this week.  If we sell the minimum per member - Varsity 3, JV 2 we would meet the 100 ticket mark.

Football Dinner/Bring Dessert

Hi Coaches!  I help Liz McLimans with the football dinners and since I'm also a cheer Mom I told her I would send you all a reminder about the dinner this week.  The Varsity and JV cheerleaders are invited to attend the football dinner this Wednesday.  These dinners are always a big hit and our football Moms provide the meals each week for the dinners.  This week we are asking the cheerleaders to provide desserts.  We hope to make this a fun tradition for Homecoming week! 

 

Please stress to the girls that our Moms are not signing up for desserts this week, so we really need each cheerleader to provide at least enough to serve a dozen.  The boys really love the desserts, so we want to make sure we have enough!

JV CHEER

I've been receiving many phone calls this afternoon regarding an incident.  To clear it up, and approval from Rhea and her mom, I decided to post the information.

Today at the Stomp festivities, an accident occurred with one of our flyers (Rhea).  Four of the girls decided to attempt a difficult stunt without a coach present and unfortunately, Rhea fell from the top and was injured.  Her mom took her to the ER and she was concluded to have a concussion and a possible fracture of her rib.  For obvious reasons, this is an injury that could have been prevented had the girls followed the rule of no stunting without a coach present.  This will be addressed before the Game on Monday and disciplinary action will be taken as seen fit.

GAME INFO:  Game time is 4:00 on Monday, September 17th at CV field.  Be there at 3:00 to warm up and team meeting to address the above issue.

MONDAY SCHOOL:  Dress out on Monday to school and for the game.  Remember to wear hair up in a high pony for the game.  Ribbons will be decided.

Announcements! Cheer JV & V

Please bring $5 for your mum / give to Brittany Hanson in an envelop or sandwich baggie with your name on it.  

Please bring in a box/set of a healthy snack or drink for spirit support for teams (boys golf, cross country, softball, tennis) that we don't get to physically support during homecoming week. (i.e granola bars, gatorade, welch's snacks) 

Please give these snacks to Haley Smith.

All cheers are invited to the football team dinner next week for homecoming.

 *Each cheer needs to bring a dessert... please bring in at least a dozen of your dessert and make it easy to grab and go i.e. cookies, brownies, rice krispie treats

Fundraiser - Shopping tickets

Hello All -

Just received a note from the Outlets and as of today, we have only sold 24 tickets total.  Minimum required for us to share the raffle proceeds is 100 tickets sold.

I am forwarding the link to ticket sales here - remember to select Castleview Spirit as the charity and enter member's name.  If you would like to purchase paper tickets, I will have them with me at the mum assembling gathering this evening.

As a reminder, we are requesting that Varsity members sell 3 tickets and JV members sell 2.

JV Game Saturday

Reminder -- JV game Saturday DC stadium, be there at 7:30 game at 8:30!

Friday night football game!

Varsity game Friday night at DC stadium- JV is not required to attend the game, HOWEVER they are highly encouraged to attend, there will be a row up front reserved for them to sit. If they attend they should wear their uniform shell and warm up pants (probably want to bring warm up jacket as it will get chilly). DO NOT wear this to school, just to the game. Girls can wear spirit wear to school!

Homecoming mum assembly

Hi Everyone!  Homecoming week is quickly approaching. It will be a crazy busy week for our spirit teams.  For the last few years, we have kicked off homecoming week by presenting our girls with Homecoming Mums that they wear on their backpacks and then display on the fence at the homecoming game.  I have ordered the supplies and am cutting away to prepare for assembly of the mums.  Anyone interested in helping to complete the mums, please join me next Tuesday Sept 11 at 6pm in the commons.  Please bring glue gun/glue sticks and stapler if you have one.  Any questions, please let me know. Great parent leads

Hello ALL!
I am very proud and happy to let you know that we are running full steam ahead and our wonderful (really they are) parent leads are ready to take on this season with your coaches and kids!  We have 25 on varsity, 21 on jv, 2 coaches, and 4 parent leads.  Please look for information to come via text, calling post recording on a phone, email, facebook, or via a note sent home.  It will seem like a lot, but please know we are trying to simply keep you all informed.  With this many new kids and freshmen, it is not an easy task. 

Coach Heather and Addy are always open to talking to parents to listen to concerns and answer questions.  However, if it is a general question regarding anything on the blog or just upcoming events, please contact your team parents.

Job Opp

This offer was presented to al CV coaches for a team.  Are there kids wanting to earn some extra money?  Please contact your team parent for more info asap if interested.

Willing to pay $500 for anywhere from 10-20 kids to come over and help me with fall yard clean up. Raking, bagging & loading full bags onto truck & trailer in yard - pine needles, pine cones, small branches, etc. Should take about 4 hours or less with closer to 20 students. If only about 10 kids, I'd be happy to get 6 hours, but negotiable. Any Saturday or Sunday before fall break, preferably sooner. If this works, I'd do it every year. Bet you could get more donations like this down in Larkspur where we need raking & bagging all the time!  Kids bring work gloves & a rake if possible. I'll supply gatorade, water, food.

Volunteers for Shopping Extravaganza

Hello All,

In addition to selling tickets to the Castle Rock Shopping Extravaganza, the outlets have asked for as many volunteers from our cheer teams to help out on the day of the event.  Shifts are 3 hours in duration and the event runs 8 am to 5 pm on September 22^nd.  This is Homecoming day for our school, so this might limit the shifts our team can cover, but we would like to get as many volunteers as possible.  Please pass along to everyone and have them go to the following link to sign up by the end of the week so that I may forward the names and t-shirt sizes to the outlets.

Shopping Extravaganza Fundraiser reminder

Hello Everyone - REMINDER - we are in the middle of our Annual Shopping Extravaganza Fundraiser!  Please see below


This year, the shopping extravaganza is taking place Saturday September 22. 

The cost of each ticket is $20.  We will receive $10 for each ticket sold, plus will have a chance at a portion of raffle proceeds as determined by the percentage of tickets sold by each organization.  Our goal is to sell at least 100 tickets to benefit from the raffle proceed split.   Ticket purchasers will have 5 chances to win their share of over $40,000 in prizes and can purchase additional raffle tickets at the event.

We have a limited number of hard copy tickets we can provide at the parent meeting next week – However, on line sales are so much easier!  There are less printing costs, no chance of losing tickets, less money exchanging hands and the outlets have been gracious enough to add a line to on-line registration where purchasers can add the name of the Castle View Spirit Team member that should get credit for that ticket!

We are asking that each Varsity spirit team member sell 3 tickets each and each Junior Varsity team member sell 2 tickets each.

If you want to focus strictly on online sales, and send out email requests to friends and family, please include the link below in your email to direct them to the registration page and please specify that they MUST enter the spirit team member’s name in the field provided right below the section where they select the charity of choice (Castle View Spirit Team).  If they do not fill that out, we will have no way of knowing who to give credit to for that sale, so that is of utmost importance.
